Welcome & Call to Worship
[Micah 6:6-8]
With what shall we come before the Lord, and bow ourselves before God on high?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what the Lord requires of us:
To do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God.
Let us worship the LORD!
God of Grace and God of Glory (Hymn 420)
Hughes/Fosdick
God of grace and God of glory, on Thy people pour Thy power;
Crown thine ancient church’s story; bring its bud to glorious flower.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, for the facing of this hour,
For the facing of this hour.
Cure Thy children’s warring madness; bend our pride to Thy control;
Shame our wanton, selfish gladness, rich in things and poor in soul.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, lest we miss Thy kingdom’s goal,
Lest we miss Thy kingdom’s goal.
Save us from weak resignation to the evils we deplore;
Let the gift of Thy salvation be our glory evermore.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, serving Thee whom we adore,
Serving Thee whom we adore.
Confession
God of second chances, you call us even when we have turned away from you the first time, or many times. Forgive us when we hesitate to return to you. Help us repair the trust that has been broken, with you and in our human relationships. Forgive us when we compare our spiritual life to others, rather than simply following you as honestly as we can. Give us courage to listen to you again, and strength to share your message and tend to your sheep. Amen.
Silence
Be Not Afraid

Be not afraid; sing out for joy! Christ is risen, alleluia!
Be not afraid; sing out for joy! Christ is risen, alleluia!
(repeat)
Forgiveness in Jesus Christ
Peace
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
Gloria Patri (Hymn 579)
Greatorex
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
Word without end. Amen, Amen.
Children’s Message
Make Me Captive, Lord
Howard/BAYLOR
Make me a captive, Lord, and then I shall be free;
Force me to render up my sword, and I shall conqueror be.
I sink in life’s alarms when by myself I stand;
Imprison me within Thine arms, and strong shall be my hand.
My will is not my own till Thou hast made it Thine;
If it would reach a monarch’s throne, it must its crown resign;
It only stands unbent amid the clashing strife,
When on Thy bosom it has leant, and found in Thee its life.
