Prelude: O Christ, Thou Lamb of God
Mueller
Welcome & Call to Worship
[Psalm 32]
Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
When we acknowledged our sin to you and did not hide our iniquity, you forgave the guilt of our sin.
Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them.
You are a hiding place for us; you preserve us from trouble; you surround us with glad cries of deliverance.
Let us worship the LORD!
When Morning Gilds the Skies (Hymn 487)
Barnby/German hymn
When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries:
May Jesus Christ be praised! Alike at work and prayer
To Jesus I repair: May Jesus Christ be praised!
Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find:
May Jesus Christ be praised! Or fades my earthly bliss?
My comfort still is this: May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let earth’s wide circle round in joyful notes resound:
May Jesus Christ be praised! Let air and sea and sky
From depth to height reply: May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine:
May Jesus Christ be praised! Be this the eternal song
Through all the ages long: May Jesus Christ be praised!
Confession
God of compassion, you call us to show kindness to neighbors and strangers alike, even as you have shown us your tender mercy, embodied in Jesus Christ. Forgive us when we pass by the vulnerable and leave your ministry of mercy to others. Forgive us when we fail to see new opportunities for community. Stir up in us your Spirit of compassion, that we may gladly aid those in distress. Make us beacons of your hope, comfort, and justice. Amen.

Take My Life (Hymn 391)
Malan/Havergal
Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.
Forgiveness in Jesus Christ
Peace
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
The Lord Is God
Gläser/Gambrell
The Lord is God, the Lord alone! Give honor, thanks, and praise
To God, the maker of all things and giver of our days.
With all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and might,
O people, love the Lord your God, the source of truth and light.
At night or day, at home, away, together and apart,
O children, take these holy words and keep them in your heart.
The Lord is God, the Lord alone! Give honor, thanks, and praise
To God, the maker of all things and giver of our days.

Response: Take My Love
Please hum on any part of this melody (or just a single note or two) at your own pace.
You may wish to read this final verse of our Confession song.
Take my love; my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee, ever, only, all for Thee.
Pastoral Prayer & The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Sending Hymn 392: Take Thou Our Minds, Dear Lord
Laufer/Foulkes
Take Thou our minds, dear Lord, we humbly pray;
Give us the mind of Christ each passing day;
Teach us to know the truth that sets us free;
Grant us in all our thoughts to honor Thee.
Take Thou our hearts, O Christ, they are Thine own;
Come Thou within our souls and claim Thy throne;
Help us to shed abroad Thy deathless love;
Use us to make the earth like heaven above.
Take Thou ourselves, O Lord, heart, mind, and will;
Through our surrendered souls Thy plans fulfill.
We yield ourselves to Thee– time, talents, all;
We hear, and henceforth heed, Thy sovereign call.
