Introit: Welcome, Happy Morning
Sullivan, arr. Ore
Call to Worship
[Psalm 40:1-4]
We waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to us and heard our cry.
He drew us up out of the miry bog and set our feet upon a rock.
He put a new song in our mouths, a song of praise to our God.
Happy are those who make the Lord their trust.
Let us worship the LORD!
Amazing Grace (Hymn 280)
Arr. Excell/Newton
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.
The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.
Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come;
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
Confession
God our Savior, we bring to you, as honestly as we can, our mixed record as people of faith on this MLK weekend. We can each feel ashamed of particular sins that have marred the quality of life for others and for ourselves. We know we have fallen short of the high quality of love shown by Jesus.
We pray for your transformation, strength for the challenge, and a renewed enthusiasm for the gospel and its works of light and love in the world around us. Give us eyes to see those we have missed. Help us have your eyes of compassion towards others as well as ourselves. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

You Are My King
Foote
I’m forgiven because You were forsaken.
I’m accepted; You were condemned.
I’m alive and well, Your Spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again.
Refrain:
Amazing love, how can it be
that You, my King, would die for me?
Amazing love, I know it’s true;
It’s my joy to honor You.
In all I do I honor You.
You are my King. You are my King.
Jesus, You are my King. Jesus, You are my King. (refrain)
[Romans 8:11]
Forgiveness in Jesus Christ
Peace
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
Gloria Patri (Hymn 579)
Greatorex
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
Word without end. Amen, Amen.

Sermon: Come and See
Rev. Pamela Starbuck
Focus: God, who sees us and knows us, can grow our eyes to see others that we might not see.
Response: Come, Live in the Light
Haas
Come! Live in the light! Shine with the joy and the love of the Lord!
We are called to be light for the kingdom,
to live in the freedom of the city of God.
Refrain:
We are called to act with justice; we are called to love tenderly;
We are called to serve one another, to walk humbly with God.
Come! Open your heart! Show your mercy to all those in fear!
We are called to be hope for the hopeless
So hatred and violence will be no more.
(refrain)
Sing! Sing a new song! Sing of that great day when all will be one!
God will reign, and we’ll walk with each other
As sisters and brothers united in love.
(refrain)
Pastoral Prayer & The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
