Introit: Gather Us In

Haugen/Behnke

Welcome & Call to Worship

[Psalm 80]

You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth!

Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved.

Then we will never turn back from you; give us life, and we will call on your name.

Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved.

Let us worship the LORD!

Praise, My Soul, the God of Heaven (Hymn 479)

Lyte

Praise, my soul, the God of heaven, glad of heart your carols raise;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, who, like me should sing God’s praise?
Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise the Maker all your days!

Praise God for the grace and favor show our forebears in distress;
God is still the same forever, slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Sing our Maker’s faithfulness!

Angels, teach us adoration, you behold God face to face;
Sun and moon and all creation, dwellers all in time and space.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise with us the God of grace!

Confession

Trusting you, O God, your people have received miracles and accomplished what seemed impossible. Trusting you, your people have also faced horrible suffering. Like Christians before us, help us accept what comes our way and continue to move forward on your path. Forgive us when we are immobilized by the shame we can feel in the midst of suffering. Help us hold onto the hope you have given us in Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. Amen.

Silence

Fill My Cup (Hymn 350)

Jones

Chorus:
Fill my cup, let it overflow; fill my cup, let it overflow;
Fill my cup, let it overflow; let it overflow with love.

Lord, let me be your instrument, spreading sunshine in the land;
Let people see Your works in me; help me live the best I can.
(chorus)

It’s my desire to live for You and to always walk upright;
Give me the strength to face each day; stay with me through each dark night.
(chorus)

Forgiveness in Jesus Christ

Peace

The peace of Christ be with you.

And also with you.

Gloria Patri (Hymn 579)

Greatorex

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
Word without end. Amen, Amen.

Children’s Message

Fight the Good Fight (Hymn 307)

Hatton/Monsell

Fight the good fight with all thy might;
Christ is thy strength and Christ thy right;
Lay hold on life, and it shall be thy joy and crown eternally.

Run the straight race through God’s good grace,
Lift up thine eyes, and seek Christ’s face;
Life with its way before us lies, Christ is the path, and Christ the prize.

Cast care aside, lean on thy guide;
God’s boundless mercy will provide;
Trust, and thy trusting soul shall prove Christ is its life, and Christ its love.

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
